Since its founding in 1995, Rockstone Cultural Arts Center has been producing performances at its Briarwood, Queens headquarters for the families in the community. These performances -- including our flagship performance, the annual Fig Tree Festival -- were provided at no cost with the participation of merchants and members in the surrounding community, and was financed primarily by the resources of its founder, Patrick Taylor.
The Fig Tree Festival’s audience grew to include fellow musicians, friends, associates, and members. Today, Rockstone also showcases their artists through shows and events performances produced by or in conjunction with other organizations.
Just as well, Rockstone’s continued dedication to artist development is prevalent in their media outlets, which include their television show, “Rockstone TV”, and their internet radio program, “Rockstone World Radio” – featured here on this website.
Many of the artists who have worked under Rockstone have gone on to pursue higher education in music or are now performing in bands, and have credited their successes to the staff at the Center.

Mission Statement
Rockstone Cultural Arts Center is an organization that recognizes the significance of music and the Arts and their paramount importance to the unification and development of a better community.
One of our main operations, RockStone Music, proves to serve this purpose to its fullest potential and extent. Rockstone takes the initiative to assist artists and aspiring singers/musicians with:
- getting airplay on radio and television,
(including utilization of RockStone broadcasting and programming resources):
RockStone TV – music talent showcase television show;
aired on public access television, including QPTV (Queens Public Television)
RockStone World Radio –
specialty music radio broadcast featured on RockStone website

- package preparation, including demo development, biography, photos and videos.
- songwriting, recording techniques and playing instruments.
- audio and video recording, and editing
- direction in the music business, including training with reading and writing contracts and agreements
- helping artists prepare for showcases and help find and refer musicians
- finding rehearsal space for single artists or full bands, also providing recording equipment and personnel for recordings
- manufacturing and package artist demos and full-length CD and DVDs, which is also an integral part of the RockStone Music operation.
- to provide performers for organizations in participation and development of the youth in the community.
Rockstone Cultural Arts Center has become more than just a performance organization. In fact, we are a conduit through which information resources are distributed to underrepresented communities and people.
We believe that the combination of both elements coupled with the effort of the community can bring forth a significant change in the “Digital Divide”, preparing children to compete in a global economy.
Additionally, exposure to the arts has been proven to stimulate learning, proving that creativity is a basic necessity for human tolerance and appreciation. Consequently, the arts, musical creativity, and other such similar activities help abridge “The Cultural Divide” (the separation of different cultures in our society).
Rockstone operates in the notion that the arts bring all people in this world together… with mutual love and understanding for all races.
